To give you a chance to get to know all of the startups a bit better, we asked them some questions. Meet Electronicsmix !

Starting at the base of every societal startup. What problem are you trying to solve?

I am really trying to solve several different problems at ElectronicsmixSince about 30% of all electronic repairs are minor and can be fixed with very low effort Electronicsmix wants to engage people in the repair process (do-it-yourself).
By doing this we can also minimize the amount of electronic waste.
Electronicsmix combines this with integrating and engaging newly arrived immigrants in its organizational model by training them in electronic works in order to get ready for the labour market.

How are you going to solve this? What is your idea?

As soon as immigrants have the permission to stay in Sweden, they can start training at Electronicsmix while learning Swedish.
Workshops are also organized for schools in order to get the youngest engaged into the reparation process, providing them knowledge about electronics.

What impact do you hope to have?

The first aim is to make people care about the environment by throwing less electronics away, and by creating consciousness about the amount of waste.
Then, to generate jobs for unemployed people – with focus on newly arrived immigrants.

Focusing more on your team. Who are you? What is your background?

I am Noori Saber, I have a bachelor’s degree in Physics. I used to work as a teacher in Physics and Mathematics in Iraq and Algeria.
I moved to Sweden at the end of the 1980’s. In 1997 I started to run a home electronic workshop in Malmö for ten years.
I have started Electronicsmix in February 2015. In May 2016 Electronicsmix got the support from Lund Municipality.
I am really hoping for Electronicsmix to all over Sweden soon.

Why did you become societal entrepreneurs? Or really, why do you do what you do?

It has always been a core value to me to help people improve their life. Working with Electronicsmix gives me a very diverse daily life.
Looking at the statistics on the amount of e-waste that is thrown away, I thought: There must be a better solution to this.

Now a few weeks into the accelerator program. Why did you apply for SoPact? What have you learned so far that you want to share with other societal entrepreneurs?

I applied for such a program because I needed help with marketing and advise on questions like what to do? What is the next step for Electronicsmix?
SoPact helped me with updating and improving my concepts. As well, I got help building a network.

If I as a reader want to engage or help you reach your goals of impact. How can I do so? Is there any way to help at this stage?

Please help spread the word. Contact me if you are interested in electronic repair or if you would like to learn more about it at, or visit our local at Virvelvindsvägen 4-S in Lund.
